Suno announced the public beta of Speech on October 1, 2026, making it available across its web and mobile platforms. This new tool allows users to input text, such as an idea, poem, or written script, and then describe the desired voice and musical style. The system then generates a spoken performance with music composed as a single, cohesive track.

Jack Brody, Suno's Chief Product Officer, stated that while music remains central to Suno's mission, the company's vision extends to other forms of human expression. The Speech feature is designed to offer another avenue for personal creative expression, similar to how users currently create songs for various personal occasions. Examples provided by Suno include meditations, children's bedtime stories, pep talks, and dramatic readings of text messages with accompanying scores.

The beta release follows a month of testing with a smaller group of users. Suno acknowledges that the Speech beta is still under development and may exhibit certain imperfections. The company notes that accents in the generated speech can occasionally shift, for instance, from British to Australian, and dramatic pauses may sometimes be exaggerated. Suno intends to refine Speech based on user feedback regarding preferred features and areas needing improvement.

Mikey Shulman, co-founder and CEO of Suno, indicated that the service aims to become a destination for "creative entertainment" beyond solely music generation. Suno, which has surpassed 2 million paying subscribers, has recently introduced its v6 models, developed in partnership with music industry entities like Warner Music and BMG Rights Management. These partnerships include revenue-sharing agreements, though specific remuneration structures for artists and songwriters have not been fully disclosed.
